Google Labs turns its CC agent into a shared agent for families, with its own Google account
On Sept 17, 2026 Google Labs expanded CC, its experimental personal agent, into an agent for households. CC gets its own Google account and email address, up to six members can share it, it sees only what each member chooses to forward, and it produces a shared daily brief linked to Calendar and Tasks. US only, 18+, personal accounts.
Key facts
- CC has its own Google account (a distinct identity and permission model); up to six household members can manage and collaborate with it
- CC only sees what each member shares (e.g. emails from school, swim center, vet), sorts them, and creates a shared 'Your Day Ahead' brief delivered by email; connects to Calendar and Tasks
- Experimental Google Labs preview on web and mobile, US, 18+, personal Google accounts; existing users get an upgrade email, others join the waitlist at labs.google/cc
- CC's personal brief had already come to the Gemini app in May 2026 as 'Daily Brief'
What happened
Google Labs announced that CC, which launched as a personal agent that briefs users on their day, is becoming an agent for families and households. Instead of acting inside one person's account, CC now has its own Google account, so several people can grant it access to selected information and collaborate with it on schedules, to-dos and household logistics.
Why it matters
Giving an agent its own account and identity, rather than borrowing a user's, is one of the emerging patterns for multi-user agents, and it puts a Google agent into shared family logistics.
