Nvidia announces a 64GB DGX Spark for $4,999 as memory prices push the 128GB model to $6,950
On Oct 2, 2026 Nvidia announced a DGX Spark with 64GB of unified memory, half the original, from $4,999 starting Oct 23. That is $1,000 more than the 128GB model cost at launch. Reports say the 128GB version now costs $6,950. The new model is a sign of how the memory shortage is raising prices for local-AI hardware.
Key facts
- DGX Spark 64GB: GB10 Grace Blackwell superchip, DGX OS and the Nvidia AI stack; from $4,999; available from Oct 23 via Acer, ASUS, Dell, Gigabyte, HP and MSI (Nvidia blog)
- Nvidia: one unit runs models up to 100B parameters; two units clustered with NVIDIA Sync Cluster Assistant pool 128GB for models up to 200B; in Nvidia's Qwen 3.8 27B test two units gave up to 1.7x the performance of one
- Original 128GB DGX Spark launched at $3,999; reported current price $6,950 (KuCoin/Futu reports; PCMag: the 64GB model costs $1,000 more than the 128GB model did at launch)
- Reaction: analyst @firstadopter (~11k views) said it costs 'roughly the same street price as the previous 128GB version' with half the memory
What happened
Nvidia added a cheaper, lower-memory DGX Spark model, sold through its PC partners, for running local agents and fine-tuning on the desk. Because memory prices have risen, the cut-down model still costs more than the full model did at launch.
Why it matters
The DRAM shortage caused by the AI build-out now shows up directly in the price of developer hardware for running models locally.
