What happened
Anthropic announced Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion on October 8, 2026 (Claude1; Reuters via MarketScreener2). Dashboards lets a user ask a business question in plain language; Claude queries the connected warehouse or CRM, builds a dashboard and keeps it current. Motion takes text, charts, shapes and images and produces editable animations, exported as MP4 files, by generating animation code. Anthropic stresses that this is not a video-generation model.
The same day, the Docs, Slides and Design tools launched in beta in September became generally available on every plan, including Free, and the separate Claude Design site is to close on December 14, 2026.
Why it matters
It pushes Claude further into business-intelligence and presentation tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerPoint, Canva), the same office suite race OpenAI, Google and Meta are running. Motion’s code-based approach means the result is editable and deterministic, unlike generative video.
