$20 claude sub and literally zero coding or 3D skills is all you need to ship a playable game prototype now
opus 5.5 burned barely 15% of my weekly quota to build a playable Far Cry 3 clone in three.js from a detailed promt and photo reference
- functional AK-47 with actual bullet spread
- shooting into water triggers dynamic splash physics
- toggleable weather + real-time day/night cycle
- overall environment aesthetic looks clean (and it's just basic textures)
yeah it took around 4 hours total and a few prompt iterations, but what you can build with ai rn is actually unhinged
and this isn't even the final build, just an early test. got some wild mechanics cooking for this project soon
Quoting @maxt3chno: OMG. Opus 5.5 is unironically better AND cheaper than astra
gave both models a creative 3D benchmark: recreate their company HQ on a floating island + render their CEO (altman vs amodei) in lego style
both on native harnesses, both running on basic $20 tiers, both in single html. results are completely different:
opus 5.5 (clear winner):
- textures look insane
- island terrain & office buildings are 10x richer
- lego dario amodei actually looks recognizable
- only burned 3% of my weekly quota
- only major L: took 38 minutes to generate lmao
astra:
- way simpler island layout
- altman looks nothing like altman lol
- camera movement felt super awkward
- but finished 50% faster than opus
which trade-off are u taking: 38-minute perfection or faster but more expensive outputs?
