Why it is here
Tesla’s 44-second edit of the second stunt at the Roadster unveiling. Tesla’s YouTube description: “The 2nd live demo during the Roadster event. Tony would be proud”. Posted on X as “Do a kickflip!” (5.0M views in about a day).
What two models and Claude saw (2026-10-16)
These are model observations of compressed X copies, not established facts.
- Physics (Gemini 4 Argon). Lift-off ~12.5 s, touchdown ~15.5 s: ~3.0 s in the air, against ~2.2 s for a ballistic arc with a ~5.8 m peak. Downward jets visibly lift the car level at take-off and slow its descent before landing.
- Cause and effect (Argon). Jets on one side start the roll; jets on the other side stop it as the wheels come back to horizontal.
- CGI or not. Flash called the motion and cushioned landing “characteristic CGI hyper-smoothness”. Argon disagreed: floodlights and red LEDs light the gas clouds from below, reflections move correctly over the rolling car, gas drifts across the parked Cybercab and Cybertruck and scatters their headlight beams, and there are no matte lines or mismatched motion blur; it judged the footage consistent with a real, physically filmed stunt.
- Claude’s frame check. Confirms the lift-off beside the line-up and the roll over the Semi (a different stunt from the live ramp clip, as Argon said; Flash merged the two). Straight lines cross the sky near a pole behind the Semi in several frames (13.5–15 s, 40 s); they look like overhead lines, and whether any is connected to the car can’t be seen at this resolution.
- What footage can’t settle. Whether the car flew on its thrusters alone or had support hidden against the dark sky, whether it is a production-weight car, and how much gas it carried. Electrek reports nobody was in the car; no source we found establishes that the flight was unassisted.
Frames

0:12.5 The line-up before the jump: the Semi in the middle, a Cybertruck and a Cybercab on the right.
0:13.5 The Roadster rises beside the line-up on two downward gas jets, from flat ground.
0:14.2 Upside down above the Semi, jets pointing up. Lines cross the sky by a pole behind the Semi.
0:15 Upright again on the left, downward jets slowing the descent.
0:36 Floodlight trusses and smoke machines behind the landing area.
0:40 Rear angle: the car rolling high near the pole, the curved ramp of the live stunt in the background.

Description
Description written by Gemini from the videoGemini 3.8 Flash, 16 October 2026
Built from Gemini 3.8 Flash’s description of the X copy, corrected where Gemini 4 Argon and Claude’s frame check disagreed with it (marked “corrected”).
What is shown
- Night runway with red ground LED strips; a line of parked Teslas: Semi, Cybertruck, Cybercab and passenger models [00:00–00:02].
- The Roadster moves along the lit centre line [00:03–00:07].
- Head-on shot past the Semi: the car goes over the Semi’s roofline, rolling with jets firing, and lands in gas [00:08–00:11].
- Corrected: in the wide side view [00:12–00:15] the car lifts off flat ground on downward jets beside the line-up (no ramp), makes a full 360° roll over the Semi with jets firing sideways, and lands on the other side. Flash said it came off the ramp at 50–60 ft; Argon estimated the peak at ~5.5–6 m, 1.5–2 m above the Semi’s roof.
- Further angles: side tracking, low three-quarter past the Semi cab, tight telephoto with jets pulsing from near the wheel wells, and slower cuts of the roll, landing gas and drive-away [00:17–00:43]. Floodlight trusses and smoke machines are visible at ~00:36; the curved ramp from the first stunt stands unused in the background at ~00:38–00:42.
Text and audio No HUD or speech; produced soundtrack with bass hits and score, gas hiss, tyre sounds and crowd cheers.
